SURE: Funded Undergraduate Summer Research Opportunities - Applications OPEN

SURE offers funded bursaries of up to 1080 GBP for undergraduate students from any department across the University to work in partnership with an academic on a dedicated piece of research during the summer vacation.

Applications for the 2018 scheme are now OPEN. The deadline is 12pm (noon) on Monday 12 March 2018. Applications are welcomed from both academic staff and students.

Further information regarding eligibility:

Student requirements:
- Must be a University of Sheffield student in their penultimate year of undergraduate study, although those on a 4 year course may apply in their 2nd or 3rd year. We cannot provide scholarships to first year or final year students.
- Cannot have participated in SURE previously. Students may undertake SURE only once during their time at University.
- Must be available over the first 6 weeks of the summer vacation period - though there is some flexibility on start/end dates.

Supervisor requirements:
- Must be employed by the University of Sheffield.
- Must be either academic staff or research associates with demonstrable experience of supervising student research.
- Must be available to support the student researcher during the 6 week project.
