INTERNSHIP: Teaching (Bluecoat SCITT Alliance)


If you are an Engineering, Maths or Physics undergraduate in your penultimate year of study, and are thinking about a career in teaching, this is for you! We currently have positions available for futureteachers to join our internship programme.

We are running a four week summer internship where you will gain invaluable teaching experience, working in a school with expert teaching professionals and outstanding teachers.

£300 a week to support your placement!

Where will I be based?

The internship will be based at Bluecoat Aspley Academy commencing 11th June 2018 in association with Bluecoat SCITT Alliance with placements in partner schools.

What does the programme look like?

• Subject Studies
• Professional Studies
• Shadowing teaching sta
• Lesson Observations
• The opportunity to plan and deliver lessons
• Involvement with the STEM Festival

International Women's Day 2022 #BreakTheBias

  International Women's Day (IWD) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. This year we are called upon to  #BreakTheBias . From the International Women's Day 2022 website:  "Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination. Sharp Laboratories of Europe (SLE) (www.sle.sharp.co.uk) is an integral part of Sharp Corporation of Japan. At SLE research is conducted into future generations of display technology, an area in which Sharp Corporation is a world market leader. The available 12 month placement is for a physicist to join a small and innovative team, part of a larger, inter-disciplinary displays group. The post may involve fabrication and characterisation of novel devices for use in flat panel displays (LCD and OLED), test and measurement of optical components, optical modelling/simulation and image data processing.
