Purpose:
This is a junior role for an undergraduate student who’s a problem solver, wants an opportunity to develop their communication skills, and is passionate about creating software products that can delight our customers.

YORK BASED
£18,500 PER ANNUM

Main Responsibilities:
• Assisting back-end development team with their projects, taking some responsibility for smaller sections of projects.
• Assisting front-end development team to develop customer facing apps with emphasis on customer usability and good design.

You will be required to work independently but will have strong support available.

Key Competencies:
• Problem solving skills.
• High academic and practical attainment.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Keen to learn new skills/try new ways of working.

Desirable Experience:
• Software development experience in a programming language suitable for commercial applications (generally use Ruby and Go, but will accept experience in C++, Java, and Python).
• HTML/CSS.
• JavaScript.
• SQL and relational databases.
• Requirements gathering.
• Application design.
• Understanding of testing practices (manual and automated).
• Understanding of usability/user experience).
