SCITT Paid Undergraduate Internship Programme 2018

This programme is led by Altrincham Grammar School for Girls (outstanding) and is aimed at undergraduate students of science, technology, engineering and maths, who are in their penultimate year of study and who are considering a career in teaching.

You will get the chance to observe and learn from outstanding classroom practitioners and run small intervention groups, workshops and projects to see if teaching really is the career for you.

Internships will take place over four weeks in Manchester during June/July 2018
•    You will receive teaching experience and training from outstanding subject mentors
•    You will be offered support with your teacher training application during your final year
•    You will be guaranteed an interview should you apply for our teacher training programme
•    You will be offered support when preparing for your professional skills tests
•    You will be paid £300 per week
•    Deadline for applicants 24th May 2018

International Women's Day 2022 #BreakTheBias

  International Women's Day (IWD) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. This year we are called upon to  #BreakTheBias . From the International Women's Day 2022 website:  "Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination. A world that's diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women's equality. Collectively we can all  #BreakTheBias. Sharp Laboratories of Europe (SLE) (www.sle.sharp.co.uk) is an integral part of Sharp Corporation of Japan. At SLE research is conducted into future generations of display technology, an area in which Sharp Corporation is a world market leader. The available 12 month placement is for a physicist to join a small and innovative team, part of a larger, inter-disciplinary displays group. The post may involve fabrication and characterisation of novel devices for use in flat panel displays (LCD and OLED), test and measurement of optical components, optical modelling/simulation and image data processing.
