Careers Opportunities for Physicists in the Finance and IT Sectors: Thursday 6 December

Come along to Lecture Theatre B, Hicks Building at 2.00 pm to learn about how you can put your Physics skills to use in the IT and business world. Dan Travers, who has over 20 years' experience in trading, risk management, software and financial modelling, delivered a busy session this week with those attending commenting "There are a lot of opportunities in the world of finance for physicists" and "Helpful session".

This talk will be repeated on Thursday 6 December. No need to book, just turn up and find out how your Physics skills can translate into jobs in these sectors.

One of our final year students took part in a  Mitacs Globalink Research Internship last summer. This is a competitive initiative for international undergraduates, which we advertise every year. International Women's Day 2022 #BreakTheBias

  International Women's Day (IWD) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. This year we are called upon to  #BreakTheBias . From the International Women's Day 2022 website:  "Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination. A world that's diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women's equality. Collectively we can all  #BreakTheBias.
