SURE 2018 Showcase, 2019 Launch - 12 February 2019, 5-7pm

Registration is open to attend the Sheffield Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) Showcase & Launch event on Tuesday 12 February 5pm-7pm: https://www.sheffield.ac.uk/sure/301/showcase    

The SURE Showcase celebrates the success of last year's SURE student projects. Come and browse over 100 unique projects and talk to the students and staff who were involved.

It is also a great opportunity to obtain key information about the application process for SURE 2019 and get your questions answered by the SURE Team.

One of our final year students took part in a  Mitacs Globalink Research Internship last summer. This is a competitive initiative for international undergraduates, which we advertise every year. International Women's Day 2022 #BreakTheBias

  International Women's Day (IWD) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. This year we are called upon to  #BreakTheBias . From the International Women's Day 2022 website:  "Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination. Sharp Laboratories of Europe (SLE) (www.sle.sharp.co.uk) is an integral part of Sharp Corporation of Japan. At SLE research is conducted into future generations of display technology, an area in which Sharp Corporation is a world market leader. The available 12 month placement is for a physicist to join a small and innovative team, part of a larger, inter-disciplinary displays group. The post may involve fabrication and characterisation of novel devices for use in flat panel displays (LCD and OLED), test and measurement of optical components, optical modelling/simulation and image data processing.
