Job Description
Job purpose:
To identify research activities that are pertinent to Analox’s business & deliver research outcomes that are proven to the extent that they can be developed into products or discounted as opportunities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Recommend where research effort should be spent.
a. What to push now & what to leave for later.
b. Use judgement based on technology readiness / size of market / cost of development to select the best areas to concentrate on.
c. Agree proposed research programme with Director of Products.
2. Find good research partners & work with them.
3. By following the Analox research process manage the successful completion of the research programme & associated research projects.
a. Build and evaluate prototypes.
b. Assess bought in products.
4. Demonstrate the research outcomes:
a. To the design team so that the product can be productionised.
b. To internal and external customers in the form of presentations and papers.
5. Work with all company departments to ensure that research programme aligns with the company’s needs.
6. Keep records of all research activities so that they can be readily picked up again in the future.
7. Support design team in productionising research outcomes.
8. Implement improvement in the research process through measurable performance indicators.
