Careers Opportunities for Physicists in the Finance and IT Sectors: Thursday 6 December

Come along to Lecture Theatre B, Hicks Building at 2.00 pm to learn about how you can put your Physics skills to use in the IT and business world. Dan Travers, who has over 20 years' experience in trading, risk management, software and financial modelling, delivered a busy session this week with those attending commenting "There are a lot of opportunities in the world of finance for physicists" and "Helpful session". This talk will be repeated on Thursday 6 December. No need to book, just turn up and find out how your Physics skills can translate into jobs in these sectors.

Opportunity at the European Space Agency: Young Graduate Trainee for Science and Exploration Communication and Outreach

The European Space Agency (ESA) is looking for more than 100 bright minds to join its team! The opportunities are mainly in Engineering, Science, IT, Natural/Social Science, Business and Administration services, and will be open for applications until 16 December 2018.  The Young Graduate Trainee (YGT) programme offers a one-year experience at ESA to students in their final year of a Master’s degree or recently graduated, and is a launch pad for many exciting opportunities within the space and STEM industry . It's based at the EAC, Porz-Wahn, Germany and you will earn approximately €2,300 per month. You have to be either a citizen of an ESA Member State or a European Cooperating State. Student Placement 2019-2020 - Noise and Vibration Division, Royal Air Force
